The Emotional Value of Printed Artwork in a Digital World
A printed photograph becomes more than just an image—it’s a presence. It has weight, texture, and a permanence that digital files lack. There’s something deeply personal about holding a print in your hands, feeling the paper, and seeing the colors without the glare of a screen. Watch a recent client’s reaction to unboxing her heirloom-quality wall art.
In an age where digital files dominate our lives, printed artwork holds a special kind of magic. While screens offer convenience, they can’t replicate the emotional depth of a tangible piece of art.
A printed photograph becomes more than just an image—it’s a presence. It has weight, texture, and a permanence that digital files lack. There’s something deeply personal about holding a print in your hands, feeling the paper, and seeing the colors without the glare of a screen.
Prints also carry sentimental value. A framed artwork on the wall isn’t just decoration; it’s a daily reminder of a memory, a feeling, or a story. Unlike digital files that can be lost in an endless sea of files in a photos app or cloud folder, a printed piece becomes a cherished possession—one that can be passed down, gifted, or rediscovered years later with nostalgia.
In a world where so much is fleeting, printed artwork offers something real, something lasting. It’s a connection not just to the image itself but to the emotions it evokes, making it truly timeless.

“Fresh 48” In-Hospital Newborn Photography
An in-hospital newborn session with prairie girl co. | Photography preserves the memories of your new-baby experience in a relaxed and fun way. Unlike many photographers who herald being in and out in 10-20 minutes, I work at your pace. You just had a baby, there’s no need to feel pressured or rushed. Do you want to finish getting ready while I set up my lights? Perfect! Do you need to stop during the session to feed the baby? No problem. I am very laid back and want you to feel relaxed and pampered while I create beautiful memories your family will treasure forever.
Babies change so quickly from the moment of birth to even just a few days and weeks later. Fresh 48 photography captures that raw newness of life within the first couple days when they are still wrinkly, flakey, a little alien-looking sometimes (be honest you’ve sometimes thought it of other people’s babies). But oh how loved already!

Once I arrive you should plan to spend around 1-2 hours with me from setup to ordering your images. Talk about instant gratification…you’ll get to see your images right after the session! I will retouch images prior to sending them off to the lab for professional printing, but you won’t have to wait to be assured that we captured what you were hoping for.
Fresh 48 sessions should be booked well in advance, once you find out your approximate due date, so that you can reserve a place on my calendar. Please reach out to me as soon as possible if you plan to be induced or have a C-section earlier than your due date.
If you know of a friend or family member who would be blessed by a Fresh 48 In-Hospital Newborn photography session, please contact me. I offer payment plans and gift certificates.

3 Tips on What to Wear for Your Portrait Session
Your outfit choices can make a big difference in the success of your portrait session. What you wear sets the tone for your photos and helps showcase your personality and style. But, you don’t need to stress about what to wear if you follow these three essential tips for choosing the perfect wardrobe for your session:
Your outfit choices can make a big difference in the success of your portrait session. What you wear sets the tone for your photos and helps showcase your personality and style. But, you don’t need to stress about what to wear if you follow these three essential tips for choosing the perfect wardrobe for your session:
1. Coordinate, Don’t Match
If you're taking photos with family or a group of people, aim to coordinate your outfits rather than matching exactly. Choose a color palette with 2-3 complementary colors and have everyone incorporate those tones in their clothing. This creates a cohesive look without feeling overly planned or rigid.
Loud patterns or logos can distract from the faces in the photo. Go with subtle textures, like knitted items or linen fabrics, which add visual interest without becoming a focal point of the photograph.
Rules are also made to be broken: You may actually choose to match, in the case of family pajamas at Christmas or wearing all black against a black backdrop so that your faces pop from the background, etc.
2. Consider the Location and Season
Your outfit should complement the environment where your photos will be taken. For example:
For a beach session, light, airy fabrics in soft colors work well.
For a fall shoot in the woods, think earth tones and cozy layers.
For an urban setting, sleek, modern styles in neutral or bold tones might be best.
Also, take the season into account. Dressing appropriately for the weather ensures you’ll be comfortable and confident, which will shine through in the photos.
I love studio photography with its controlled climate, lighting, and backdrop. It’s simple and timeless and can be scheduled any time of year without worrying about needing to reschedule due to bad weather.
3. Accessorize Thoughtfully
Accessories can add a touch of personality to your photos but should be chosen carefully. Statement necklaces, scarves, hats, or even a favorite watch can enhance your look, but avoid anything too bulky or distracting.
Pro Tip: Shoes matter! Make sure your footwear matches the overall vibe of your outfit and the setting. Even if you’re tempted to wear those old, comfy sneakers, they don’t usually photograph as well as you’d hope.
Personally, I love to see bare feet on little ones or with a more formal outfit, nice dark-colored dress shoes.
With these 3 simple tips in mind, you'll be well on your way to feeling confident and looking amazing in your portrait session. Remember, the most important thing is to wear something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself!
If you would like help in selecting your outfits, I am available for consultation prior to your session. So remember, don’t stress it! Let’s have some fun together!!

Heirloom Portraits - A Timeless Tradition in Children’s Portraiture
prairie girl co. | Photography is pleased to announce that we are now offering framed Heirloom Portraits for your family! This style of session can be quick with capturing a range of facial expressions in a few minutes, or you may choose to take a full range of headshot and full-body images while your child is dolled up in their adorable outfit. Either way, I look forward to helping you bring these timeless memories home to your walls.
Heirloom Portraits are a traditionally Southern, Southeastern United States exactly, style of photography involving a child’s closeup photograph against a white backdrop with a smokey white vignette. The child will usually wear light or neutral-colored clothing, large bows in their hair or sweet Peter Pan collars, etc.
These photographs would have been black and white, historically, and many still are, though color is increasingly becoming a popular option for these timeless archival-quality keepsakes of childhood innocence.
Modern-framing shown on these timeless Heirloom Portraits. You choose from a variety of classic or modern finishes.
Heirloom Portraits will grace a home’s walls for generations, with many homes displaying multiple generations of family members’ portraits together on the wall.
These portraits come finished, framed, and ready to be hung from a professional lab and will last over 100 years when properly cared for.

A Christmas Card Portrait Session
On this last day of November Kim, Mike and family quickly decorated their living room for Christmas, put up the tree and trimmed it with lights and ornaments, picked out their outfits, and brushed the dog so that we would have the perfect backdrop for their sweet family session. A few short days before Mom had decided she wanted to get images for the annual Christmas card while her daughter was home from college. A few back-and-forth texts later about what to wear and I was ready to arrive for the session.

Poppy, their excited pup, greeted me at the door with all my armfuls of gear and promptly got tucked away in a bedroom so that I could safely setup up and fire off some test shots.
A short while later I was working with the kids and tried a prompt that usually doesn’t fly with adult-aged kids…”Everyone tickle (so and so…)!!” I was shocked when it turned out they LOVE tickle fights and it produced some really fun moments of laughter and genuine smiles.
Poppy later came out for photographs with the family and some of those were the best ones of the day. She stole the limelight and knew just how to pose, don’t you agree?
Thank you Kim, Mike and family for a fun Christmas Card Session!

Sweet little Aubrey! I’ve enjoyed photographing you since you were just two weeks old. You’ve grown so much. Now you’re pulling yourself up, sitting independently, learning to crawl. Soon you’ll be walking on your own and then “Watch out mommy and daddy!!” You smile big and bright, though today you weren’t feeling that great, and you warm the hearts of all who meet you.

How to Use Model Calls for Marketing Your Business
What can you post on social media or your blog when some of your clients are hesitant to have their beautiful images posted online after their session? It’s so important to create regular content so that the algorithms see you as relevant, thereby showing your hard work to the deserving masses who need your services.
I understand and respect my clients’ desire for privacy more though, even when I love their images so much I wish I could share even just one. But, I don’t want to deny a family an opportunity to book a portrait photograph simply because they don’t want their images to be posted on my website for marketing purposes.
I have actually had several of those sort of clients in recent weeks, and have had to pivot when thinking about what type of content to post to my blog and social media pages. Enter the Model Call!!
A Model Call is just that, an appeal put out to your followers and friends that you are looking for models for a specific project. Model calls can be paid or discounted sessions, they are paying for the privilege of being featured, or you may choose to offer them for free in return for the model signing off that the images may be used at the photographer’s discretion for marketing online or in print materials.
The beauty of the model call is that you the photographer call the shots. You can specify the type of project, who you’re looking for, what they should wear, where they need to show up and when. Do you like outdoor urban scenes or boho studio setups, or something totally different altogether.
Let your creativity go wild as you plan what you want. Make sure it stays on brand with your overall style, but if you’re looking to break into a new style of photography then model calls are definitely the way to test out those images prior to booking paying clients.
You can advertise your upcoming model call project on your social media pages, send out a request to your email list, or just network word of mouth among friends and mom groups in person or online, for instance.
Check out my opt-in form below if you’d like to be put on a list to receive updates about upcoming model calls with prairie girl co. | Photography.
I want to be a model! Sign me up!
This post highlights one such VERY willing model call client who gets paid for her sessions in copious amounts of treats. Her idea of a great afternoon is doing whatever she’s asked as fast as possible so that the treat factory keeps pumping out the goods. I love all my model call clients, the two legged and four legged varieties. They help build my online portfolio and we have a fun working relationship that is mutually beneficial.
If you see me advertise that I’m hosting a model call and you fit the criteria of that project, don’t hesitate to reach out! Better still, opt-in to my mailing list so that the updates come straight to your inbox.
Note regarding this particular model: Any time you see her on my website or socials with her head down it’s a trained “cute” behavior being asked of her. She’s in no way emoting any emotion other than hurry up and pay me, so don’t let those sad eyes fool you! She’s being paid very well for her efforts. lol.

On August 18, I had the privilege of partnering with Safe Families for Children Wisconsin: Racine-Kenosha Metro Chapter to photograph their annual Family Reunion event raffle and activities as well as to host a portrait corner in order to create fully retouched portraits for each family that participated. It was such an honor to work on those images and know that each family would receive a free 5x7 image from the day as well as a gallery of retouched images they could use on social media or print out and frame of their family. I look forward to partnering again with them in the future.
From their website:
Safe Families for Children (SFFC) Wisconsin connects parents to a network of support through family-like relationships with volunteers.
Our volunteers are fully vetted and trained to provide support and resources to parents while they get back on their feet. What makes SFFC so unique is there are many roles in our Circle of Support so everyone can do something!
Do you know of anyone in your community that could use some help in order to stay safe from domestic violence, provide food for their children, find clothes for a job interview, keep a roof over their heads, have a listening ear or a night of babysitting when single-parenting becomes overwhelming?
There are many organizations out there that assist in these ways and they usually welcome volunteers to be their hands and feet to the many in need.
If we all help each other then everyone will have their own needs met also. Let’s choose today to live a life larger than just living for our own desires and pleasures.
“Whenever you are able, do good to people who need help.”

Sneak Peek: Aubrey - 6 Months Old
I love photographing infants. They are so fun to work with. I also love to capture mommy and daddy in a special way also with their baby, so chat with me about how to help you style your portrait session for the most cohesive look.
Aubrey is already six months old! How is this possible? Do any of you feel that 2024 has been flying by as fast as the speed of light? Blink and it’ll be December. I’ll shush now, because we need to slow down and enjoy each moment and month and all the fun milestones along the way. Littles grow up too fast as it is, so take a breath and delight in being present here and now.
Our rockstar princess is super smiley in this session. She even let mommy change her outfit for a whole different vibe. Which outfit is your favorite?

I did bring the studio to Aubrey’s home, which makes it so convenient being able to work around nursing, changing, napping and cuddling with mommy during the session. I go at your child’s speed and don’t rush them. They are safe and well-tended to in a familiar environment which allows them to relax and for their personalities to shine.
Let me know how I can help you make memories with your little one before this age and stage is over too soon.

Behind the Lens: The Puppy Portraits
In my new blog series entitled “Behind the Lens:” I will share some outtake-style images and shooting details for a specific photoshoot.
Alright, let’s dive in to the recent puppy sessions!
In my new blog series entitled “Behind the Lens:” I will share some outtake-style images and shooting details for a specific photoshoot.
Alright, let’s dive in to my two recent puppy sessions!
In mid-May I showed up to a lovely residential location with a ton of gear bags in tow and immediately noticed that a house full of Goldens = A HOUSE FULL OF DOG HAIR! Haha! Like a lovely snow globe. But the wet nose kisses greeting me made up for that quickly.
So much personality. Mr. Blue was NOT wanting to play along and Mr. Green said, “I’m outta here!”
Once I got my lights out I started to meter and figure out where the best places to work might be. For the five-weeks-old photoshoot I actually went into the family room and used a blue sofa in a room that had almost no natural light as it was late in the afternoon/evening. I set my strobe to camera left and had the light pass in front of the sofa (feathering the light). This is similar to standing near a window but where the light is all in front of you, not directly on you.
For their individual portraits, we decided to place the puppies in baskets for visual interest. At five-weeks-old they were rather rag doll like and slumped rather than sitting up with strength. Much like with infant photography where they are placed in things to prop them and look cute, I used that idea here also with the puppies.
The puppies were just old enough to want to spill out of the baskets and explore around them. To capture their attention we used a variety of dog toys, high pitched trills, clanky keys, etc. For the most part, the puppies didn’t care…lol!
Once I photographed the individual puppies I then used the puppy wranglers to help line all seven up on the sofa. This was a little challenging at five weeks, but got to be VERY challenging at seven-weeks-old! By then they were all over the place with energy, strength, and curiosity. To capture their attention at that age we discovered that pounding on the piano worked GREAT!
Did you think getting the group photos was fast and easy? Seven curious personalities made for some fun antics while photographing!
When I came back for the seven-weeks-old photoshoot I did the same as the previous session, but the difference for this shoot was choosing to shoot in the living room which was on the opposite side of the house. There was much more natural light coming through the window, but it was also much earlier in the day than when I photographed them previously. I like the contrast of the two sessions. By the later session the puppies are awake, energized, light and bright in their personalities. In the earlier shoot they were young and sleepy, so the darker snoozy atmosphere complemented that feeling.
Pullback of lighting setup. With proper lighting and intentional framing of a photograph, any location can become a “studio” setup.
I used two lights for the second shoot. I wanted full control of color of the overall light and its intensity, so I aimed one light straight at the window to bounce added light off the window and onto my little furry subjects as a hair light. My second light was set 45 degrees to my camera right and was used to light the room space evenly, provide a consistent color to each portrait and fill the shadows. Using my strobes lended itself to the feel of a well-lit daylight space but without too much backlighting overpowering the scene. So if you had previously thought that artificial flash is too “flashy” it’s all about learning how to set it and the camera so that it looks natural, but with more control over the end result.
The puppies were being puppies and we enjoyed playing with them in between takes. I took my time and went at their speeed—which included a potty break, food breaks, and a few nap breaks! But in the end we ended up with some really fun images for the breeder to use for marketing these cuties.
After much repositioning of moving puppies we got a few really fun group images and here is one of them.
Using strobe lights I have nice catch lights in the puppies eyes.
Let me know if you like this series showing the work behind the scenes to capture the photographs. Let me know in the comments.
Until next time,
-xo Trisha
A Seven-Weeks Old “Pupdate”…
I once again was so grateful for my two puppy wranglers helping me keep them in a line. It was even more challenging at this stage than last time when they were just beginning to move about independently. These older versions of themselves were now more like 9 month olds and were ON THE MOVE! But, they still tired out quickly, as babies tend to do, whew! We got the job done with lots of laughs and repositions of squirmy little Golden Retrievers who didn’t want to be kept still for a minute longer.
In just two short weeks these adorable Golden Retriever puppies have grown so much and they will leave for their prospective homes in just a few days. It’s so hard to believe, but the time really has flown by. I had the privilege of being asked to return to breeder Elizabeth’s (@thejoyofgoldens24 on IG) home and capture these squirrelly little fluff balls before they left their nesting box.
Cute puppies just melt my heart

Why are professional pet photographers so beneficial to breeders and pet parents? Because we know how to use proper artificial lighting in dimly lit spaces to bring out the best in your pup and the scene. We know how to edit the images to remove small distractions and get the best exposure and color. We also have relationships with professional labs so that the colors stay true in printing and artwork production to what the photographer intended through either the capture or the edits.
I’d love to work with you if you’d like to make forever memories with your favorite family pet! Contact me!
Puppy Portraits!
Squishy puppies with their soft coats and warm, sweet puppy breath? Yes, please! As a local Kenosha, WI portrait photographer I help a wide variety of clients and these puppies were no exception! I worked with the breeder, Elizabeth (@thejoyofgoldens24 on IG), to showcase their distinctive personalities for prospective new owners.
Working with puppies is challenging, not unlike working with small children. You set them down and within a split second they are off on an adventure. As a pet photographer, I was very grateful to have not just one, but TWO puppy wranglers helping me keep them in place long enough to photograph them.

Puppy pile!! How did SEVEN Golden Retrievers fit in a small wicker bread basket?
I held this session in the breeder’s own home, bringing the studio to her—because who wants to load up seven puppies and try to get them to a studio location for photography? Nobody has time for that…haha!! Seriously though, the home environment was perfect and the puppies did a great job cooperating for only being five weeks old.
Elizabeth had the great idea to tie colored yarn or ribbons on the puppies so that we could tell who was who in the photos. It’s important not just for puppies, but for people portraits to consider everyone’s outfits in advance and make sure that they coordinate well with the style of photography you’re looking for and these colors suited the puppies personalities as well. We referred to each puppy as “Mr. Green or Miss Red”, etc.
I used my strobe light to show off the puppies in their best “light” and to maintain even consistent light and color from start to finish in the photoshoot. This is important when there are multiple subjects being photographed separately along with group shots. Natural daylight can change so quickly throughout the day depending on the direction of the windows, whether there are clouds passing in front of the sun intermittently, etc. so using artificial light in a “natural” type way means you’re able to get a cohesive look throughout.
All the puppy portrait fuss sure tired them out!
Didn’t these lovely Golden Retriever puppies do such a good job for being just five weeks old?
Maybe you’re a breeder in Kenosha County, Racine County, or Lake County? Contact me if you’d like to work together to professionally photograph your latest litter!
Pet lover whose dog(s) is their kid? I’ve got you covered there too. We can do an indoor or outdoor pet photography portrait session and create some great artwork for your wall.
Know someone whose furry family friend is getting up there in years? Let’s photograph the love and bond they have while we still can. Send them my way and we can chat about scheduling an End of Life session for them to treasure forever. End of Life sessions are suited for any pet that is in their senior years, not just when the end is imminent.

Walk MS: Brookfield May 11, 2024
Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can. -John Wesley
This Saturday morning started out cold and windy for an early May day in Brookfield, WI. But the weather didn’t stop the large crowd of volunteers and walkers of all ages who came out to the Walk MS: Brookfield event to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. The walkers came with a variety of reasons: some had family currently fighting the battle, some had lost loved-ones to this progressive disease, and some were warriors themselves helping spread the message and raise donations for research. Whatever their motivation for walking, their enthusiasm and joy throughout the event was palpable.
I volunteered to photograph the event in honor of several friends that have MS. They too are warriors and I’m so glad to know them and their never give up attitudes towards life.
Such a joy and a privilege it was to serve! I want to encourage you to find ways to get involved in our Southeast Wisconsin community and help wherever you can, in whatever way you can.

Mr. Personality…
I have the pleasure of knowing the sweetest, most thoughtful and hard-working 5 year-old in Kenosha County, WI. M loves to help, he has a wonderful smile, and is a great big brother.
The Series of 9 portrait, shown above, is a perfect choice to show off all of M’s many expressions. Upon closer inspection I also noticed that he had two full rows of bottom teeth perfectly aligned one row in front of the other. So cute!

Choosing one image out of a series to frame and hang can be really challenging when there are so many wonderful choices. That’s why this series is so popular, you don’t have to pick just one…pick nine of your favorites!
Several other great options for series images include a gallery wall with individually framed portraits, albums, and acrylic blocks. The acrylic block, shown below, holds a Series of 3 and can sit easily on a dresser or end table. Both are great options for homes with limited wall space or as a gift for senior family members that may be in a care facility. Don’t let limited wall space stop you from enjoying tangible, touchable, every day viewable memories.

My first summer during college I moved to Kenosha County, Wisconsin to work as a counselor at a camp. Little did I know that several jobs and years later I would be right back “home” where it all began with a photography business. In the in between years I have earned a BFA in Photography and then worked full-time on a cruise ship teaching photography and photo editing to cruise ship guests.

In the in between years I have earned a BFA in Photography and then worked full-time on a cruise ship teaching photography and photo editing to cruise ship guests.
I love creating images. In fact my favorite stuff to capture is details. I am guilty of loving detail shots so much that when I was cruising the world I would forget sometimes to capture the wider scene…honey, your photo of a unique door knocker in Spain is lovely, but what did the town look like? Oops. I’m definitely better at capturing both now!
That’s probably why I love portraiture so much, though. I love getting in close and capturing the details, just like I always did in my travel photos. Newborn images, with all the tiny fingers and eyelashes, lips and grins are so captivating. Children and their wide eyes of curiosity and wonder… Pets with their goofy underbites and tilted heads when they want to know where the squeaky ball sound just came from. I love capturing these moments in time and preserving them forever.
Tiny fingers, tiny toes…
I am absolutely smitten by this gorgeous girl I had the privilege to photograph! Mom and dad had me come for an in-home newborn portrait session at just over two weeks old. The day was perfect, though I added additional light with off-camera flash…
I am absolutely smitten by this gorgeous girl I had the privilege to photograph! Mom and dad had me come for an in-home newborn portrait session at just over two weeks old. The day was perfect, though I added additional light with off-camera flash and a white reflector to really amp up the quality of light falling on this little angel dressed in pink.
We photographed baby A on the bed and in her crib, some photos of mom and dad holding her, and a few fun photos of mom and dad holding her tiny little feet. So precious! We took our time in this session so that baby A was always comfortable, sleepy, and laying in whatever position she chose for natural, simple, baby-led posing that will never go out of style.
With these types of sessions I love doing a fun Series of 9 framed piece where I capture super closeup shots of all the little details: eyes/eyelashes, ears, fingers, toes, lips, etc. These are a great way to tell a story all in one frame — and these details change so quickly!
*If you’re having a little one soon please contact me about booking a session. I also offer Fresh 48 sessions where I visit you in the hospital to capture these moments within the first two days, or I am able to come to your home after you’re released from the hospital.
**Because they grow so fast ask me about the Grow With Me package where we photograph your baby as a newborn but also at other milestones through their first birthday (i.e. newborn, 3 months old, sitting, first steps, etc). This allows you to create a baby album of their first year.
Seasons in photography…
What’s your favorite season for scheduling a portrait session? Maybe it’s spring with the promise of growth and renewed life. Summer with the flowers, beautiful sunsets, warm breezes through prairie grass in the late afternoon. Many love autumn seeing the landscape ablaze with color on all sides.

Summer with the flowers, beautiful sunsets, warm breezes through prairie grass in the late afternoon. Many love autumn seeing the landscape ablaze with color on all sides. Winter whites with snow and the joy of the holidays with a splash of bold colors are fun to capture.
I don’t have a favorite photography season. Each season has something new to enjoy and wonderful to capture. The main thing in each season is photographing YOU and your family or pet in a way that says, “yes! That is exactly who they are!”
I also love working in a studio environment where the light and background are consistent regardless of the season or the time of day. In fact, that is my preferred place to photograph due to the consistency. I love when images in a series, taken at different times, all blend together beautifully because of consistent light and backdrop.
This type of photograph is all about YOU and you won’t get lost in the background as it competes with its splendor for attention from the viewer. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy both styles a lot, but my preference for ongoing series in a home is definitely going to be studio portraits.
Stand-alone portraits or series all photographed at the same time look wonderful in nature, but equally wonderful when captured in the studio in a simple style that is timeless and clean looking.
Whichever your preferred style, contact me to discuss booking a portrait session for your newborn, family, or pet. I look forward to hearing from you!
What’s in a name…?
I’m just a simple down-home prairie girl from southeast Wisconsin who loves to photograph newborns, children, families, and pets. Check out my website to learn more about my style and my desire to get the images off your phone or computer and get them printed so that you can enjoy them every day.
I’m a simple down-home girl from the southeast Wisconsin prairie who loves taking photographs your family will love for generations. I am equally passionate about getting the photographs off the digital devices and onto your walls where you can enjoy them every day in the simplest and most impactful way as professionally printed heirloom quality products.
I have a lifelong love of the book series Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Combining this love of the simple sweet life on the prairie with creative endeavors that could financially support myself, years ago I decided to name a new handcraft business prairie girl co. Like Tiffany & Co. or NY & Co., but I chose lower case letters to emphasize the sweet simplicity.
A little over a month after opening that business, where I created knit and crochet toys, Christmas ornaments, and other small home decor items, I bought a lively Engapoo puppy, named Annie, who is the most cat-like dog I have ever met. I have not (yet) been able to continue the crafting business due to her obsession with yarn and anything that moves that I’m currently working with.
Well, now that I have (technically) two businesses I decided to add a descriptor to each name so that you would have some clue what I sell. That’s always helpful, right? So, prairie girl co. | Photography was officially born!
