A Christmas Card Portrait Session
On this last day of November Kim, Mike and family quickly decorated their living room for Christmas, put up the tree and trimmed it with lights and ornaments, picked out their outfits, and brushed the dog so that we would have the perfect backdrop for their sweet family session. A few short days before Mom had decided she wanted to get images for the annual Christmas card while her daughter was home from college. A few back-and-forth texts later about what to wear and I was ready to arrive for the session.
Poppy, their excited pup, greeted me at the door with all my armfuls of gear and promptly got tucked away in a bedroom so that I could safely setup up and fire off some test shots.
A short while later I was working with the kids and tried a prompt that usually doesn’t fly with adult-aged kids…”Everyone tickle (so and so…)!!” I was shocked when it turned out they LOVE tickle fights and it produced some really fun moments of laughter and genuine smiles.
Poppy later came out for photographs with the family and some of those were the best ones of the day. She stole the limelight and knew just how to pose, don’t you agree?
Thank you Kim, Mike and family for a fun Christmas Card Session!
